The International Cheese Science and Technology Symposium is an event held by the International Dairy Federation every four years in different countries around the world. It is a prestigious scientific event recognized in the world cheese sector. The Symposium was supposed to be back in Canadaafter 20 years, in Quebec City, but the COVID-19 pandemic decided otherwise.

The positive side of this disappointment is that the virtual format in which the symposium will be held in 2021 will make it accessible to a broader pool of participants dispersed around the world. 

The enhanced 2021 format will provide access to an increased number of live and pre-recorded lectures, thematic exchange workshops, innovative interactive activities, virtual tours and numerous networking opportunities with researchers, emerging scientists, cheese experts and industry representatives.

Symposium activities will be held in the morning of June 7, 9 and 11. This schedule will allow a maximum number of participants from different time zones to be online during the presentations. Pre-recorded lectures will be available for viewing at any time to allow participants to create a personalized schedule: attendance at keynote lectures and workshops and delayed viewing of pre-recorded lectures with access to the speakers via chat. 

Presentations will be available for viewing on the virtual platform up to July 9, 2021.

Furthermore, the Novalait Forum Techno will take place on June 8 and 10, 2021, also in the morning. You are warmly invited to learn about applied research supported by Novalait in the Quebec and Canadian dairy sector. The Forum includes presentations in the dairy production and processing sectors by researchers responsibles of the research projects. Oral presentations by graduate students are also scheduled.
